What to Wear with your Hair!
When I was five years old my twelve year old sister decided to cut my hair in the trendy Dorothy Hamill style. Although I can look back now at pictures and see just how cute it looked, at the time I was devastated to have my scraggly golden locks missing. I cried for hours and the only way my mom and sis could figure out how to calm me down was by doing a photo shoot of me with my new do. (Obviously I was a mini-narcissist back then). I tried to find a pic of our 70's style shoot to share with everyone to no avail, but here's a verbal image of it: me with a rose in my mouth, a cute shirt & short outfit, a park as my backdrop and me holding my hair posing like a super model. Nice right?
Ever since that cut, I've always been a long hair gal. Some may call it a security blanket, but I like to think of it as easy & comfortable. In order to not look the same over the decades though, I've been a hair color chameleon. Lucky for me my sister (former Dorothy Hamill cutter) now owns a hair salon here in Atlanta to keep my color addiction satisfied. Over the last decade I have had multiple shades of blonde, red and brown locks whether via wig or dye and have loved them all. Changing my hair color and slightly changing my hair style (bangs or layers) gives me a new look and keeps things fresh and exciting.
There are some side effects from having a new color at the tip of my finger tips. Wardrobe change is one and makeup is another. Hmmmm.....maybe I subconsciously change my color whenever I want to do a closet & makeup drawer overhaul. Whoops, I digress..... back to business. Certainly I can wear whatever color I want but some colors really pop depending on what shade of hair I have and some can look way too drab. I try to keep this in mind when I'm styling myself or my customers. I want our outfits to highlight (no pun intended) all of our best assets from top to bottom!

Since hair color is the first accessory in the outfit, there are an array of colors that I like to work with per head topper. Anyone can wear white or black but these are some of my top choices for each group: Blonde Hair - Navy, Coral, Cream, Royal Blue, Dark Grey, Red, Turquoise, Hot Pink, Brown
Red Hair - Cream, Yellow, Green (All shades from Olive to Kelly), Mineral Blue, Peach (as long as hair is a darker red), Turquoise
Brown or Dark Hair - Red, Blue, Green, Metallics, Taupe, Pastels, Orange, Turquoise, Sage Green, Yellow
Grey Hair- Mint, Purple, Grey, Pale Blush Tones, Pastels, Navy, Faded Indigo, Pink, Violet
Are you wearing the right tones??????? Once again, thanks for reading my blog. If you like it, please share with your friends. Also, sharing comments is strongly appreciated. For example, have you changed your hair color and not been able to wear an outfit you loved because it now didn't have the same pop? xoxo Sabrina AKA: STYLERANGER

Thanks so much Deirdre. Blogging is new to me so it’s nice to hear that I’m beating out Vogue & Bazaar :-)

Sabrina, I’m loving your blog! I used to love Vogue and Bazaar because they were about fashion, but their articles rarely concentrate on clothing anymore. So thanks for filling that void!
