The 4th of July: Where to Play & How To Dress
The 4th of July is my favorite holiday. It’s like Christmas with all the gathering of friends & family, great food but no stress of gift shopping. It is the pinnacle of summer vacation and many are already planning for some fashionable, patriotic fun. In the last week alone I’ve met with shoppers visiting our store that are preparing for trips to the Hamptons, Los Angeles, Seaside, Charleston and other fabulous locations!
Just hearing details of how they will be celebrating reminds me of all the things that make this country great including our soccer team is holding its own in the World Cup!
I am planning on heading away this year but want to remind the Atlanta die-hards that there are lots of fun things to do in Atlanta too, including our biggest event - the Peachtree Road Race. If you haven’t had a chance to do it yet, now’s your time to shine. Even if you don’t get out there running, go support your fellow Americans - all the cheering helped me get through it last year!
The country clubs around town usually host fun events and have great firework displays. If you don’t belong to a club though, Lenox Mall does its big fireworks display, too.
Key fashion tips whether you’re heading out of town or staying at home...remember to keep cool and always be ready for a party. A blue and white top and shorts are casual and the colors are perfect for a red, white, and blue theme, or when you are out at night watching fireworks throw on a colorful maxi dress that shines brighter than the lights in the sky.
Wanna keep it more simple? A bright tank and print shorts will take you from lunch poolside at the club or boating around Lake Burton to the fireworks at night, too.
Whatever your plans, remember all the things that make this country great, sparkle on and have a wonderful 4th of July! P.S. Here's links to cool things in Atlanta over the Fourth Of July weekend: atlanta.net about.com CBS Atlanta
